Senior Advisor
Matthew Cox brings more than 25 years of experience in lobbying, law, political strategy, and public affairs. His background includes senior roles within Ohio state government, including the Ohio Auditor of State and serving as Senior Deputy Attorney General under Attorney General Jim Petro.

Over the course of his career, Matt has guided some of the nation’s most recognizable organizations — including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Boeing, Meta, PhRMA, and the Walton Foundation — in strengthening their advocacy and public affairs presence in Ohio. He also represents a diverse range of Ohio-based clients across the private, nonprofit, and education sectors.

Regarded as one of the state’s leading experts in education policy, Matt has helped shape more than 30 pieces of legislation designed to expand and improve educational opportunities for students and families. His work in special needs education law has been particularly transformative, helping parents secure access to learning environments that best support their child’s unique needs.
Matt is a graduate of John Carroll University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He has served on numerous community and nonprofit boards, including United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland, Cleveland After School All-Stars, the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, School Choice Ohio, the John Carroll University Board of Regents, and the Ohio Lottery Commission. He lives in Avon with his wife, Diane, and their three children.
