As President of Capitol Partners, Eric brings over two decades of experience as a lobbyist, attorney, and strategic advisor. Known for his ability to bridge public and private interests by targeting strategic outcomes with precision, Eric leads the firm’s advocacy and policy strategy efforts across a broad portfolio of industries including energy, utilities, telecommunications, healthcare, and technology.
Throughout his career, Eric has represented and counseled major corporations and institutions such as AES US, Verizon, Facebook, Amazon, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, Dayton Power & Light, and Gas Natural. His expertise lies in mitigating risk, navigating regulatory complexity, and driving results through targeted advocacy strategies. Recognized as one of Ohio’s foremost experts in state and local policy, he has advanced legislation and influenced outcomes in areas ranging from utility regulation and cannabis policy to campaign strategy and collection administration.
Before founding Capitol Partners, Eric held several senior leadership positions that defined his trajectory in public affairs. He served as Chief of Staff at the Ohio Public Utilities Commission and as a member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. His prior experience includes roles at Tucker Ellis & West LLP, where he practiced within the Government Affairs and Utility Practice, and as Director of Special Counsel under Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Government Affairs at Capitol Consulting Group and worked under Governors George Voinovich and Bob Taft. Eric has also supported numerous successful political campaigns, including those for President George W. Bush and Governor John Kasich.
Eric earned his law degree from Capital University Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University. Beyond his professional achievements, he demonstrates a deep commitment to service and philanthropy—volunteering for nearly two decades on his fraternity’s national board and completing multiple half-Ironman marathons to raise funds for cerebral palsy and cancer research.
