Dora Pruce brings more than 20 years of diverse public and private sector experience to Capitol Partners. Dora’s effective and impactful client strategy approach is informed by her background in state and federal government in addition to local, state and federal direct lobbying experience. 

 

At Capitol Partners, Dora has helped guide the firm’s expansion into media relations. Drawing upon her diverse background, she has worked with clients to develop an effective media strategy that supports an effective lobbying strategy. She also identified and created coalition partners to make a single client’s voice louder and more defined. Dora has directed effective media relations campaigns for clients, earning placements with targeted local, regional and national media.

Dora was instrumental in executing a memorable experience for multiple state delegation clients when the Cleveland hosted the Republican National Convention in 2016. During the RNC, she helped host and secure media interviews with the Mexican Secretary of Tourism.

Prior to joining Capital Partners as Vice President, Dora spent eight years as Assistant Vice President and Director of Government and Community Relations at John Carroll University. At JCU, Dora led the University’s advocacy strategy at local, state and federal levels, worked directly with the President and Deans of the Boler College of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences, and managed special projects including having direct oversight of the NBC/JCU Meet the Press fellowship.  She also served as Secretary to the Board of Directors for a few years. Among her legislative accomplishments while at JCU was creating an advocacy strategy to support and increase state funding for all independent colleges and universities statewide.

 

Previous to her higher education experience, Dora was the District Director for U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich where she served as his liaison to the communities of Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Geauga counties. She represented the business community at the state and federal levels as the Director of Government Affairs at the Greater Cleveland Partnership, and started her career in the Ohio Statehouse working for State Representative Kerry Metzger.

 

Dora holds a B.A. in Political Science from the College of Wooster. She is very active with her community and resides with her family in Chagrin Falls.
